Going the extra mile with Sustainable Packaging

We source and collect constantly evolving assortment of contemporary and vintage home goods. These one-of-a-kind pieces are gathered for their longevity, the intention of their making, and how they work in the context of a carefully considered life. Time & thought, carefully layered through each piece in our collection.

We love that our vintage pieces are re-loved and restyled in their new home.

When planning the launch of House of Kaarigari, we made sure that we follow the same thought in our packaging. From the very beginning, it was of great importance for us that we made sustainable choices.

- PLANET OVER PRICE. -

Since day one, the sustainability of our packaging has been a priority staple of the business.

The most sustainable solution was certainly not the cheapest, but we felt it was our responsibility as the manufacturer to absorb these costs to achieve our vision of zero waste objective.

We would like to encourage people to continue to recycle. Our postal boxes are made of FSC®-certified, eco-friendly cardboard. The FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council)

has been committed to ensuring that forests around the world meet the social, environmental and economic needs of the present generation, without compromising those of future generations. We also reuse our boxes whenever possible. Afterall it is what’s inside that matters.

We recommend that recycling out postal boxes, or even better – reuse them.

Our products are usually fragile in nature, so we make sure we pack them safely. Our packing peanuts are made from maize-based starch material, and is a fully compostable void fill material and is 100% biodegradable. The product is fully soluble when saturated with water which takes away this issue of litter.

Our chlorine-free and acid-free tissue paper is 100% recyclable and biodegradable. We recommend reusing it wherever possible. You’ll find some of your beautiful pieces in cotton bags that are hand stamped with plant based ink. These unbleached cotton bags are reusable in your home.

WE WOULD LIKE TO ENCOURAGE PEOPLE TO CONTINUE TO RECYCLE. IT’S ANOTHER STEP CLOSER TO SAVING THE PLANET.

We’re already sustainable, but we are not perfect and want to do more.

We would love to hear your feedback and comments on we can be more sustainable
